Drain and Fruit Fly Eliminator Explained
Here you will find a quick video explaining how the product works and some tips on how do get the best results.
How to get the best results:
- Before the first use, fill the sink with water then quickly drain it before using the treatment. This will wash down any food particles or debris.
- Pour the treatment down the drain in the evening or during low flow times. This keeps the treatment in contact with your drain pipes for longer.
- Do not pour other chemicals down the drain with this treatment.
- Shake the bottle vigorously before every use. This prevents the different ingredients from settling.
-
Sometimes, with double sinks, the distance to the P-trap is longer on one side of the sink’s drainpipes. See the picture below. The treatment is a light gel, but it will not flow the extended length of the pipe so it cannot remove the drain scum here. In a cup, mix 8 ounces of product with 4 ounces of water. Stir for a few seconds and pour down the drain with the longest run. Repeat daily for seven days. Treat the drain with the short run as normal (4 ounces every night).

Yes, this is septic safe when used as directed.
You'll see a reduction in flies after 2 to 3 days. They should be all gone after 5 to 7 days. Complete elimination in sever cases can take up to 2 weeks.
The product works by destroying drain scum. Since drain scum does not build up in a toilet and the flies cannot swim, it would be ineffective if used in a toilet.
If the biofilm returns, they can come back. We recommend treating your drain every two weeks as a preventative measure.
Yes, it works great in garbage disposals.
Yes. The formula is safe for all household drains, including kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, tubs and shower drains, and garbage disposals. It also works in commercial settings.
Sometimes flies emerge from other breeding sites. Make sure every drain is treated and consider cleaning the drain with a brush or flushing with hot water to remove debris. Cleaning any additional organic buildup helps eliminate larvae.
After the initial elimination phase, using the drain fly killer weekly helps prevent new organic buildup that attracts flies.
The primary action is removing the breeding habitat inside drains, so it stops larvae from developing. Trapping or wiping adult flies with standard traps or cleaners can help reduce visible adults while the habitat is eliminated.
